Melissa (Maria Valverde) é uma inocente garota siciliana, que tem apenas 16 anos.
Ela se sente distante dos pais, já que seu pai vive viajando e sua mãe está concentrada apenas em seu próprio mundo, sem notar as mudanças pelas quais sua filha está passando ao se tornar uma mulher.
Na escola Melissa passa o dia sonhando com Daniele (Primo Reggiani), um colega de classe por quem nutre uma paixão adolescente mas que a ignora solenemente.
Até que, um dia, Daniele decide convidar Melissa para sair.
